To buy an EastLink trip pass:

If you have a valid CityLink account, it works on EastLink and you should NOT need a trip pass.

You can buy a trip pass before or up to 3 days after your trip on EastLink.

EastLink trip passes don't work on CityLink. If you also use CityLink you will need a CityLink pass as well as an EastLink trip pass. For simplicity we highly recommend you either open a tag account or a non-tag account or buy a Melbourne pass for up to 30 days as all of these options cover EastLink and CityLink.

If you have an AVIS or Budget rental vehicle there is a nationwide tolling program to help you pay for your trips on EastLink as well as other tollways.

 

If you have a Hertz rental vehicle there is an optional Hertz Toll Product to help you pay for your trips on EastLink as well as other tollways in Victoria and NSW.

 

Melbourne Pass - the 30 day option for both EastLink AND CityLink

A Melbourne Pass is a great alternative if you are visiting Melbourne or need to travel on Melbourne's toll roads for a period of up to 30 days and you don't want to buy separate trip passes for EastLink and CityLink passes for CityLink. Cost saving tip: tag trips cost less than trip passes

Trips with a tag usually cost less than a trip pass. See the following three examples for a car.

From Eastern Freeway to Maroondah Highway (through the Mullum Mullum tunnel):

  • Tag $2.48
  • Trip pass $5.40
  • Tag would save $2.92

 

From Princes Highway to Monash Freeway:

  • Tag $0.43 (the $0.54 toll is reduced by 20% as it is a single section trip)
  • Trip pass $5.40
  • Tag would save $4.97 

 

Full length trip on EastLink, from Frankston Freeway to Eastern Freeway on the weekend:

  • Tag $4.32 (the $5.40 toll cap is reduced by 20% on weekends)
  • Trip pass $5.40 (trip passes are not discounted at weekends)
  • Tag would save $1.08
