You can buy a trip pass before or up to 3 days after your trip on EastLink.

If you have a valid CityLink account, it works on EastLink and you shouldn't need to buy a trip pass.

Melbourne Pass - the 30 day option for both EastLink AND CityLink

A Melbourne Pass is a great alternative if you are visiting Melbourne or need to travel on Melbourne's toll roads for a period of up to 30 days and you don't want to buy separate trip passes for EastLink and CityLink passes for CityLink. Cost saving tip: tag trips cost less than trip passes

Trips with a tag usually cost less than a trip pass. See the following three examples for a car.

The following examples show prices that apply from 1 July 2010.

From Eastern Freeway to Maroondah Highway (through the Mullum Mullum tunnel):

  • Tag $2.42
  • Trip pass $5.26
  • Tag would save $2.84

 

From Princes Highway to Monash Freeway:

  • Tag $0.42 (the $0.53 toll is reduced by 20% as it is a single section trip)
  • Trip pass $5.26
  • Tag would save $4.84 

 

Full length trip on EastLink, from Frankston Freeway to Eastern Freeway on the weekend:

  • Tag $4.20 (the $5.26 toll cap is reduced by 20% on weekends)
  • Trip pass $5.26 (trip passes are not discounted at weekends)
  • Tag would save $1.06
