You can buy a trip pass before or up to 3 days after your trip on EastLink.

If you have a valid CityLink account, it works on EastLink and you shouldn't need to buy a trip pass.

Cost saving tip: tag trips cost less than trip passes

Trips with a tag usually cost less than a trip pass. See the following three examples for a car.

From Eastern Freeway to Maroondah Highway (through the Mullum Mullum tunnel):

  • Tag $2.37
  • Trip pass $5.15
  • Tag would save $2.78

 

From Princes Highway to Monash Freeway:

  • Tag $0.42 (the $0.52 toll is reduced by 20% as it is a single section trip)
  • Trip pass $5.15
  • Tag would save $4.73 

 

Full length trip on EastLink, from Frankston Freeway to Eastern Freeway on the weekend:

  • Tag $4.11 (the $5.15 toll cap is reduced by 20% on weekends)
  • Trip pass $5.15 (trip passes are not discounted at weekends)
  • Tag would save $1.04
